Erin Saunders, B.A. Art Education, M.A. Ed. Elementary Education
The best part of teaching art classes is exploring with the students. Kids get so excited when they learn new things and make new connections. I love to be a part of that. I've been involved with art education in one way or another since my exceptionally amazing art class in elementary school. It was there I developed my love of Mr. Sketch markers and Vincent Van Gogh.
I got my B.A. in art education from Brigham Young University where my favorite classes were figure drawing, aesthetics, American art history, and flexibility. I also have a M.A. Ed. in elementary education from the University of Alaska Southeast where my favorite class was Alaskan Children’s Literature. During the school year I teach second grade and K-5 art at Academy Charter School in Palmer.
I spend a lot of time with family. I especially enjoy making art with my youngest kid, talking and laughing with my teenagers, and birding with my husband.
